Volunteers are key to our organization.
No mater what your horticultural experience, you are invited to join our dedicated, fun and enegertic workforce.

We need you!

Since 1999, volunteers have been working together with the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation to preserve, maintain and rehabilitate Maudslay’s remarkable gardens and designed landscape that were created in the early 1900s.

Activities include planning, fundraising, planting, and upkeep of the gardens, including lots of weeding.  In season we typically offer two possible volunteer days – usually Mondays and Saturdays. Your time commitment is completely flexible.

You can show your support for this wonderful historical and natural resource by volunteering your time or providing funding for our activities. It is with everyone’s assistance that we can ensure the beauty of the gardens for this and future generations. Please be a friend and support this outstanding community asset. Get involved today!

2020 Volunteer Schedule

Come join the volunteers in the Garden this summer! From now until the end of September you will find us there on Saturday mornings from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. In the fall we will likely plan additional volunteer time on Mondays to keep up with the leaf raking and pruning. Since our volunteer schedule is subject to change, if you would like to receive regular updates please send an email to Stefanie at sshuf@mit.edu. We look forward to seeing you in the gardens!
